Class Target Summary:
- The goal of this class is to give teachers resources and quick how-to's that can be used across disciplines. - Pages, Keynote, iMovie, Edublog/Kidblog, Symbaloo, Evernote, Google Drive/Docs, Today's Meet and many more!
- Using the presented resources, the students will integrate one or more into a curricular unit and share with the class.
- The class will be designed in a way to give teachers:
- an overview of each resource
- short instruction on how they work
- time to see how these resources can be used in the classroom by applying one or more of them in a unit of instruction
- class discussion on how the resources fit into Bloom's Digital Taxonomy
- an introduction to the SAMR model of tech integration
- time to share discoveries and curriculum integrations at the end of both days

Use Google Form to do a quick survey- Pages - Apple's version of Word
- Keynote - Apple's version of PowerPoint
- iMovie - Apple's movie making software. It comes in both app and computer favors. Import and edit video and photos, adding titles, music, and effects, to create your own movies.
- Twitter - microblogging; learning & discussing in 140 characters or less
- Edublog/Kidblog - EduBlog and KidBlog are run by the same company. Edublog is geared toward the blogging teacher. KidBlog is a 100% COPPA compliant site that allows kids to blog in a safe environment.
- Symbaloo - A social bookmarking site that is visual and customizable. Great for organizing research possibilities for students. Time saver over typIng in each address.
- Prezi - Cloud-based presentation software; your work can be accessed from anywhere, on any device. Instead of moving from slide to slide, Prezi moves non-traditionally. By zooming and panning through the canvas type space provided, viewers are shown a more animated, movie-like presentation.
- Evernote - Allows users to capture, organize, and find information across multiple platforms. Users can take notes, clip webpages, take photos, and record audio. In the premium version, users can share their notes with others (WC has this).
- Google Drive - great way to make, share, and collaborate files. 1000's of schools use this as their workflow so they can be paperless.
- Today’s Meet - a way for students/staff to make comments on the topic being presented (called a backchannel) without having to interrupt the flow of the topic. Good way for reluctant students to make their voice heard.
- VideoNot.es - videoNot.es is a site that allows you to view video from YouTube on one half of the screen and take notes in a word processor that links directly to Google Drive on the other half. This is great for a flipped classroom.
- Educreations - app that serves as a whiteboard. Bring in pictures and videos; annotate on them; record your voice with instructions, etc.
- ScratchWork - ScratchWork allows you to display a webpage and a word processor all on the same screen. This allows you student to be able to take notes without going back and forth between a browser and a word processor
- Garage Band - Garage Band is a powerful sound recorder, music arranging and viable podcasting tool. Useful in many situations and user friendly
- Dragon Dictation - Stop typing and start talking. Dragon is easy-to-use voice recognition software. Great for note taking with challenged students.
- Cloud on - allows you to get Office docs on your device; create, edit, save and share. All done through the cloud.
- PDF editor/annotator - bring in already created PDF files, annotate on them, do minor editing, share them with students.
- Animoto - easy way to take image and video files, combine them with built-in music tracks to make great looking and sounding videos.
- Voki - Voki allows your students to create an avatar and give them a voice. This is just another way to present information. It’s customizable and fun. Plus there is a chipmunk voice option!
- Diigo - Diigo is a social bookmarking site that allows you to tag bookmarks for searchable browsing. You can also search other users bookmarks when looking for additional information.
- conceptboard.com - Conceptboard is an interactive white board that allows you to import a variety of documents and sources. Once imported you can annotate add comments and text. It is sharable as a PDF, JPEG or URL.
- teachingchannel.com - teacher version of YouTube. Thousands of instructional videos; searchable; can set up channels for videos. Great way to "see" instructions.
Pinterest - a social bookmarking site that has loads of educational material (and great recipes).
Haiku Deck - a visually rich power point alternative. Automatically changes the font size to encourage students not to include too much information per slide.
Padlet - online sticky board best used for checking understanding and brainstorming. Allows for insertion of files and pictures.
Jellycam - online stop-motion video maker (not available on iPad)
Pixabay - online public domain, high resolution images that schools can use
Gosoapbox - Gosoapbox is the Swiss army tools of student response systems. Poll, quiz and ask questions of your students in one place. Also allows for students to ask questions and be answered by the teacher or other students.
Soundcloud - royalty free recordings, can record your own voice, Ts can add comments into the recordings, comments show as recording plays
Inclass - students can keep all of their schedules, notes and assignments in one place. Allows for students to take notes using text, audio recording or pictures.
StoryToolz - great for creative writing. Story Toolz is a great resource for authors. It includes writing prompts, word count meters, readability, half title generators and cliche busters.
Dispatch.io - can merge all your cloud storage storage services (Dropbox, Drive, Box, etc.) into one account
Playfic - website allows you to write choose your own adventure and then turns it into a game that can be played by other students. Site stores your work online and allow for sharing.
Flubaroo - automatically corrects short answer and multiple choice questions through google forms.
Announcify - WOW! Reads web pages out loud, blurring paragraphs that are not being read to help focus the attention of the listener
